![]() ![]() I haven’t enjoyed one of the games since Civ 3 (which I loved). I think I’ve finally had it with the Civilization series. Also includes new civilizations, leaders, units, and buildings. New features including a World Congress, new Diplomatic Victory condition, and an all-new era added to the Technology and Civics tree. Contend with natural disasters and other new Environmental Effects, complete great Engineering Projects, and manage electrical power. The Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Platinum Edition contains both major expansion packs: CIVILIZATION VI: RISE AND FALL: Experience new game mechanics including Great Ages and Governors, upgrades to the Diplomacy and Government systems, and an additional 8 civilizations, 9 leaders, and several units, districts, wonders, and buildings.ĬIVILIZATION VI: GATHERING STORM: Explore an active planet in an expansion that introduces climate changes for the first time in series history. Explore new land, research technology, and go head-to-head with historical leaders as you lead your civilization from rocks to rockets.Ĭities expand physically across the map, create new strategic possibilities through the game as you pursue multiple ways to achieve victory and build an empire to stand the test of time. Choose a leader and pursue agendas inspired by their real-life counterparts. MAKE HISTORY in one of the most critically acclaimed and influential game franchises in strategy game history. Great strategy games are few and far between on consoles, and Civ VI scratches that itch quite weill. All in all, I’m happy to have Civilization on my PS4. One last complaint: This weekend, Civ VI is $20 (physical copy) for the Nintendo Switch, although it released only 1 week prior to the PS4 version. The camera should zoom to your units getting attacked on other civs’ turns, but maybe there’s a setting for it. Controls aren’t as intuitive as they could be (switching between units could be made easier). As i said, the tutorial is helpful, but only scratches the surface of what you can do. My complaints about the game are minimal. While the tutorial is helpful, true mastery only can come with practice and repeated playthroughs. The game is deep, with a pretty steep learning curve. The number of “Leaders” is huge (don’t forget to download your bonus civs after installation). It runs well enough, but isn’t a graphical powerhouse – it looks like it could run on a PS3. But alas, I’ve grown older and work a “9 to 5”, as do most of my gaming friends. Those online gaming sessions with friends lasted until dawn. Many a countless nights were spent playing Civilization Revolution back on the PS3. ![]()
